Blind mechanics
Suppose I have Iron Reflexes, so just the minimum 5% Evasion chance, and a blinded monster tries to hit me. His chance to hit is just 23.75%, right? This seems crazy imba to me (consider how hard Evasion-based charcters have to struggle to get 50% chance to evade normally), so maybe I have misunderstood how it works.

If you have taken Iron Reflexes, you don't even have the 5% chance to evade. Blind affects accuracy rating, which is the opposite side of evasion, which means that if you have Iron Reflexes, Blind is useless to you.

" This is not true. Outside of Unwavering Stance and the unique helm Ezomyte Peak (which make your evasion chance zero), you always have a minimum 5% chance to evade, even with zero evasion rating (as in the case with Iron Reflexes). Blind multiplies the enemy accuracy rating by .25, and they will still have some amount of accuracy rating versus your zero evasion rating and you will still have the minimum 5% chance to evade. |

" Ah, that makes more sense. On the wiki it says 'chance to hit', which is a very different thing. Still, very powerful on a high Evasion character then: 75% less monster accuracy is like multiplying your own Evasion by a factor of more than 5. |

"No, blind is a multiplier to chance to hit, not accuracy rating. with no evasion, you have a 5% chance to evade, so they have 95 chance to hit. blind multiplies this by 0.25, leaving 23.75% chance to hit. | |
" Think you could mention this somewhere in game? That seems like a pretty massive detail to leave out, the actual effect of blind. |

" Mark, what would be the interplay with the evasion entropy mechanic? Would it prevent a blinded monster from being able to crit? In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

"Why would evasion entropy work differently? The monster has a new chance to hit so it uses the new one instead of the old one. |

Right, definitely not taking Unwavering Stance on my Armour-based characters if Blind is an option!
Hmm, how does Blind interact with Arrow Dodging? Is it possible to get 95% chance to evade ranged attacks even with Iron Reflexes, so long as the enemy is blinded? Last edited by Incompetent#3573 on Feb 10, 2013, 7:48:19 AM

So if it directly affects the chance to hit, does that mean it still works when someone has Unwavering Stance? I guess this has to do with Unwavering Stance's mechanics as well.
Does it just put your evasion to 0%? so when targets are blinded and attacking you it would be (100% chance to hit)*.25 = 25% chance to hit when blinded? or does it make it so you will always be hit no matter what? |
