Chance to avoid Stun while casting-Stun lock

I wonder about the mechanics of the Chance to avoid Stun while casting nodes.
is this nodes can help me to escape of stun-locked, while when stunned I'm trying to cast(lets say lightning warp)? or is it the nodes take effects only when im in a middle of a casting(not helping vs stun lock)? |

One thing its notable for sure is sinergy.
"While the character has any energy shield remaining, it grants an additional 50% chance to avoid being stunned." Practicly if you use chaneling spell you cant be stun att all until your ES is deplited. Else it all depend on stun duration and your pure 50/50 avoid during casting animation. " perhaps i wasn't clear enough... the ES 50% applyied always-that clear to me. my question is about "practical application" node which gives 25% chance to avoid stun while casting(and the 2 nodes near it with 15% each). when the casting animation playing it is working, thats clear two, but what when im in stun lock but trying to cast? is pressing a button counts as a cast? or only when the casting animation is playing? also-what do u mean i will 100% avoid stun while chaneling? |

No other way to actualy determinate this then whit curent animation playing. 100% avoid, well i asume Practical Application use same mechanic ES use and if im corect Acrobatic is aditive whit other smaler nodes then this should be to. Casting spells constantly is chaneling, Incinerate for example, but generaly if you constantly casting you should be playiung cast animation all the time unles you get interupted whit stun eventualy if you have no ES. Practical Application grants a chance to avoid Stuns - ES inherently has a chance to ignore the effects of being Stunned. They are two separate checks, and thus you will not be 100% immune to being Stunned while casting.
If there are precisely zero milliseconds between Stuns, then 1. you're fucked anyways 2. you're not casting. More likely than not there'll be some time between Stuns, allowing you to initiate a cast, which is then more likely to complete due to Practical Application's Stun Avoid. |

ok got it, thanks.
now the question is how often it happens. base stun duration is 350msec, with 100 bloc&stun recovery it would be 175msec(asuming the enemy dont have increase stun treshold). if i would increase my block&stun duration to 200(hard but possible i guess) the time will drop to 87.5msec for the time duration. would some one will be able to stun me then? |

Depends on how fast the enemy attacks. If there is only one enemy that's highly unlikely as I don't think any enemy in the game attacks even close to ten times per second. But if you're swarmed, you will mot likely get fully stunlocked.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

You can always get Stunned, it just won't last long. Getting proper stunlocked with 200% Recovery would involve so much Damage the Stun doesn't even matter.

" here is the examples who does it: -boss from 75 necromancer map. first form with the ice from sky and the second form with whirpuls. when im alone-im fine, but in party or/and with some hard mods(like +X proj or increase damage) i get stun locked. i dont know how much time betwean each hit when u in the whirpul but it sound real quick. i have 10.5kES, so i can look myself for like 5sec stun-locked to death at those situations... sometimes i can escape(ES 50% chance), but 1 to 10 i will die. -crematorium 76 boss map, if i got in his fire storm-stun locked to death. -library 76 boss map, same with his spining books. also in pvp. i dont think its a real hard to get 10aps with multisrtike+increase attack speed. all those are realy annoyes me. " from what i know, stun recovery doesn't help against stun chance. its only result in shorten the stun time-after u did stuned. |

" That is true. However, Damage taken does directly affect Stun chance. In order to be Stunned every 85 milliseconds, you need to take a ton of Damage in a very short timespan. Such a vast amount of Damage alone will be enough to murder you - the Stuns are barely even relevant anymore.
