Can A witch become a Ranger (awesome loot inside !!)

SO I have just finished exams for the year. I returned to POE after a long abscence having given away all my stuff including legacy BOR and 6l lighting coil. Anyway this season I wasted a lot of currency trying to get a 6link cloak of defiance, it never happened. Eventaully I gave up started grinding with the intention of saving up for one. After 3 days of Dominus I had saved 200 fusings and was feeling like I would get there in the end as long as I never gambled anymore fusings.

Then On Global a guy said giving away 100 ex Windripper gear to fifteenth responder. I kind of thought yeah right, but why not, I know that people do give away stuff because I have done it myself in the past. Check the stuff I got.





Man I am soo happy, that is why I am rambling, hope you can appreciate that and bear with me.


So the simple question, can a witch make use of this gear and does anyone have some suggested reading to find out more about it. I have enjoyed a really rock solid incinerator build, but am happy to respec because was kind of getting sick of dreaming about burning things any way.

I am sure you can make something happen, witch is only 2 starting areas away from ranger, and only 1 from shadow. Unfortunately it's all EV based, as your starting area would lend really well to a CI bow build. Look through builds which come up near or to the witch area and see if you can tweak them to fit with a witch start.

Cool thanks will do, just equiped the gear and obviously, not up to damage potentialwith my tree, but the character moves so fast is a real nice change, think I will be able to do something with it, for now just need to take out that bolld magic gem, yuk, lol.

It depends a bit on what kind of build you want to play with that Windripper.

If you are looking to do an Elemental Aura Archer (e.g. Mathil's build) then I think rerolling a Ranger or Scion would be better - even at level 80 or so which you can get to pretty damn quickly with that kind of gear, you will be better off with one of those starts than a Witch. The Witch starting area offers nothing useful for that kind of build other than access to a Power Charge.

On the other hand, it's entirely possible to make a fantastic bow CoC build with that gear (although you'll want different gems) - and for that Witch start peachy, since you benefit greatly from pathing through Spell Damage and Spell Crit on your way back down towards the Shadow / Ranger areas.

Just from having equipped the gear and dropping my shield nodes and a getting some elemental wepon damage nodes and crit nodes,it seems to be doing pretty good, was funny though I had never died to reflect instantly till just now, but I am sure it can be worked around. any way sleep, read, slay, is the plan now.

Witch would make a great CI archer build.

But that isn't CI archer gear.

Also just roll a ranger/shadow and use your witch as something else.

Am actually doing all-right with heralds of thunder herald of ice and wrath up as well as 6 power charges (since I am using PCOC I almost always have max charges) have 35,000 Dps with Split arrow using the following links

Can anyone see any really good uses of respec points for this build? I realise it is total glass cannon only have 4300 life and I can get murdered really easily. However I am just kind of playing around with it, and I am not trying to level, so it is no problem for me when I die. Also I only just have enough mana regen at the moment to avoid using Blood Magic which is a total DPS killer, so don't want to lose any more regen.

Also the set up came with a hatred (or anger forget which) gem as well but I cannot sustain that, how many redced mana nodes would I need to be able to run wrath hatred and HOT ? is it even possible, or was that a switch gem.

leveling a new char goes fast, better do shadow or ranger.
with that gear i had no real problems with reflect and when switch weapon ele from split arrow to life leech gem i was able to play ele reflect maps, exept there was also some bad mod like -max or vulnerability on the map.
