Please Help me improve my Shadow Build

With this build I have: 48% Total chance to block while dual wielding 160% increase EVA rating 40% total chance to dodge incoming attacks (Acro) Double Evasion rating Against Projectile attacks (OG) 30% total chance to dodge spell Damage (PA) 28% Chance to avoid Elemental Status Ailments with an 30% additional chance to avoid chilled and frozen status ailments 149% Edit: 154% Increased max HP 2.6% Edit: 2% HP regen per sec +24 max HP 65% Increased Block Recovery 30% Chance to avoid being stunned 495% Total increased chance to Critical Strike 146% Total increased critical strike multiplier 262% Edit: 278% Total increased physical damage 52% Edit: 64% Total increased attack speed 20% Increased life recovery from flasks and flask recovery speed +1 Max power charge and 18% increased power charge duration Edit: +4% Increased Evasion per frenzy charge 2% Life leech and Mana leech 20% Edit: 28% increase max mana 20% Mana regeneration 28% Total increased accuracy rating 20% Increased elemental damage Skill gems I will use (am using) Bread and Butter: Cyclone with Power charge on critical, Life leech and Mana leech support gems, I use this in conjunction with throwing down Poachers mark, never run out of mana (though I realize I have a small mana pool) and regen a fuckton of HP, spin it to win it Utility: Whirling blades with Weapon elemental damage and lightning damage support gems (I don't know if added lightning damage is superfluous, if theres something else you guys can suggest I'm all ears). To quickly get rid of casters I use Flicker strike with added cold damage and increased critical strike support gems Single Target (boss/rare/annoying single mob): Throw down a Vulnerability Curse, use puncture with chance to flee support gem, then use dual strike and Vaal double strike ( I want to link increased duration for Vaal doublestrike when I get that support gem and increased critical strikes or critical strike multiplier ) Auras: Grace or Vitality, considering my build which do you suggest I use? Ok that's what I Have, now this is my very first build, not including the first shadow I built, that I put a lot of thought into, I would have gone into MoM, but since small mana pool, I'm sure that would have left me manaless in compromising situations, so I axed it in favor of .6% increase life regen. I also Know that people consider less than 200% hp increase to be bad, especially for a EVA shadow, but considering all my other defences is this really going to be a problem? (for late game chaos damage?) Question: Doest Avoid chilled and frozen stack with avoid status ailments? Also if you have any suggested improvements please don't hesitate to state them. Yes I am a noob, don't state the obvious. Bump - I notice that a lot of the postings by people I'm assuming are noobs looking for advice don't seem to get all that much attention on here. I know I've posted this in the right place... is no one really available to help out or is everyone on here too busy trying to improve their cookie cutter builds?

Is there a reason you went dual daggers? I assume you don't already have all the gear needed and this is just the plan on what to do. When using cylone that means you have to invest twice in a good dagger as the weapons alternate every spin. A good attack dagger is pretty expensive. If you don't have a surplus of currency i suggest using dagger+shield. A Crest of Perandus can be bought for 1-3 chaos and offers 40(!)% block. That frees up a lot of block passives you would have to take otherwise (plus it has life and leech).
I wouldn't invest in reduced status ailments in the tree. They are of limited use for life builds. You should consider buying an alpha's howl helmet anyway (which gives freeze immunity) as it fits nicely with an eva build + is necessary to run additional auras/heralds if you don't invest in reduced mana reservation in the tree. Speaking of: Grace yes; vitality no. Other auras you might want to run: Hatred, Herald of Ash (technically not an aura but it reserves mana). BTW don't act like a spoiled child just because no one answers you thread within an hour. |

I usually just craft my own rare (the yellow ones?) daggers with orbs I get and I have some gear and rare daggers from my old glass cannon shadow that I messed up on up to level 50. Are reduced status ailments really that useless? I mean last time around on my old shadow getting chilled or frozen pretty much directly lead to me getting one shotted (which is another matter entirely and another reason why I restarted). So grabbing a pure eva shield is probably best then.. hmm ok, I wouldn't have to use all my orbs for crafting...
Where would you trade orbs for unique items such as Crest of Perandus and Alpha's Howl? so far I haven't come across an npc that offers to trade anything like that. | |
" The duration of a status ailment (frozen/shocked) depends on the ratio of the damage received and the max life pool. The more life you have, the shorter the duration. If the duration would be less than 300ms the effect isn't applied at all. That means that status ailments like being frozen/chilled is an issue for chars with a small life pool like low life builds or CI builds (in which case the life one would have if one hadn't taken CI is taken for the calculation). A normal life build (4000+ life for lvl80) can handle status ailments without those nodes especially because there are uniques that protect from freezing that aren't that expensive (wanderlust shoes while leveling in normal and cruel for example; Alpha's howl for endgame). An Alpha's can be bought for 15-20 chaos on rampage. Chaos orbs can be aquired using the full rare set recipe with a vendor: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vendor_recipes One should also be able to pay with fusings which can be bought at the act3 vendor (you sell rare gear for alteration shards, sell alterations for jewellers and jewellers for fusings). To search/buy gear use http://poe.trade/. Just check the buyout only option and then sort for best price. |
