TS gem Setup Help, please!!

I have what I think is a very high survivability char and I have a nice bow (300 pdps 9.3 crit; 6L). Thing is, with all this power I want to maximize my DPS. Didn't take extra frenzy or power charges so I only have 3 of both.

I know that added fire sclaes with phys (hatred) so Ive always thought it was one of the best gems in slot for phys crit builds but I really wonder how it compares to PCOC as I am critting 70 percent of the time and 87 hit chance. Do you know what 6 gems would provide greatest DPS overall?; no pierce or chain required as I've not taken anything with passives.

My dps for LMP (prefer over GMP) TS is at 24K (you can see that very few of my gems are leveled with quality so DPS will get better in time) but I feel that this is low dps.

I don't think your gems are holding you back. Your 300 DPS bow is probably one of biggest things holding your DPS down with mirrored Harbinger bows reaching 450+ DPS. Your jewelry is also pretty light on DPS - understandably because you have a lot of resists there.

A couple of quick things you could do to improve DPS would be to use Assassin's Mark instead of Poacher's and using an Atziri Flask would also give you a good boost in DPS.

If you are having fun and able to kill things is the important thing. Highest DPS numbers are for those with deep pockets.

maybe ill just recraft the crafted mods; i could hit a potential 360 dps if i can get the master to craft more than 110 increase phys in total as I can divine it up (bloodthirsty I think); I sorta figured the dps on bow was mediocre seeing as tho lionseyes hit 340 with ease. thanks man.

Try 20/20 inc accuracy. To get your real crit chance multiply your chance to hit by chance to crit.

Accuracy/crit nodes provide huge benefits and playing with 92% chance to hit is very pleasant

what gem would you recommend I drop if i added in that accuracy gem?

Probably added fire or faster attacks (if you deal enough damage per shot attack speed has little value)

At this level tooltip damage means very very little. General xlear speed starts to depend on stuff like acxuracy, mov speed, mana sustain reliability or even item pickup strategies.

well all of that is just hunky dory- i just want moar power :D i agree tho, the bow needs more dps.

my personal favorite setup is:

Tornado shot - GMP (this one is a must instead of LMP to be honest) - added fire - increased physical projectile damage - weapon elemental damage (assuming you run both hatred and herald of fire) - increased critical multiplier.

Faster attack is totally overrated when it comes to harbinger mana builds. In blood magic setups it's another story. Yes it gives good tooltip damage, but not a very good clearspeed. At least in my experience.

GMP is nice for clear speed but lmp just feels better to me (preference). i like the control I have with LMP and the clearspeed is still amazing. i dont need to clear a map in 1 minute to feel satisfied with my build. clearspeed is cool but certainly not essential. will min/max at 90. im also going to grab a new quiver; costing me my soultaker actually but it has 29 wed, 60+ crit chance, 37 multi, life 90 and cold res 25. This will help things out with DPS im sure.

edit: tried out this pretty wicked quiver i mentioned above BUT it actually did not produce a higher Tooltip dps. sad times. i really needed cold res. ha

There is DPS and then there is eDPS. Your tool tip DPS doesn't necessarily indicate how effective you are at clearing. Clear speed is the main reason one should emphasize DPS. I find the best combo for clearing quickly is Tornado - GMP - Pierce - Physical Projectile - ICD - PCoC or Added Fire. I prefer PCoC for speed clearing in that last slot because cursing slows you down. Additionally, Assassin's Mark is not very good versus bosses. However, a blue/red combo in a 6L is nice when you decide to magic find. I am typically clearing with IIQ/IIR equipped anyway. When I am not using IIQ/IIR gems, I switch my Tornado Shot to my chest which is GGGGBB and throw my Puncture into my bow.



If you are just looking for the highest tool tip Tornado Shot, I'd wager Tornado - Faster Attacks - Phys Projectile - ICD - Added Fire - WED (assuming Hatred/Herald of fire/Herald of Ice or Lightning) or ICS is the highest combo. ;p. I doubt anyway would want to run Tornado without LMP/GMP though. =D
