Game recently started lagging on first fight on map

So recently I started getting an issue where after loading into a new map the first fight (first group of mobs) causes game play to freeze / stutter for 3-6 seconds and then after that the rest of the map is fine until we load into a new map.

Not sure whats causing this and its a recent development but as I recently started a character in Beyond am concerned that this will cause a potentially avoidable character death.....

here are relevant sections of DXdiag if needed.

~FIXED~

friend had add --nopreload to my steam launch options without telling me, removing that resolved the problem.

Thanks!
