what is Minecraft all about?

i see this game everywhere! what is it?!

Its basically about surviving on a map while exploiting everything to make your life there easier but the mobs don't like what you did to their precious land so they rise up against you and hunt you down until you die.

Long story short its: find a place where you want to live, craft, have fun, fight if you want to and explore the world.

I made a mountain side home with multiple levels, an outdoor garden, and then made a giant water slide that put me to the river at the bottom of the mountain. Then some creepers got into my base and blew up my water slide :(

It is a game that sparks people's creativity. Incredibly fun to play with friends.

Think of it like being stranded on a randomly generated gorgeous world, with nothing. You gather. You build. You survive.

You basically have all the freedom to do whatever you want, and to build whatever you want. The graphics are horrid but it's all about having fun and building stuff. Then get pissed off when a Creeper walks in and blows it all up. There's also countless of mods (even WoW and Diablo mods) out there to enhance your experience.

You find yourself in the world for the first day. The world is nothing more then a giant lego set that can be taken back apart.

Take apart some trees for there legos. Then build a house before night falls.

is pretty much nothing but minecraft videos. Has links to a bunch of other minecraft oriented youtube channels.

I find minecraft to be completely droll. There are significantly better and more productive ways to let the creative juices flow, and while the randomly generated world is nice it's far from gorgeous.

I've had a lot of people refer to it like legos, saying "Well Septile you liked legos why don't you like Minecraft?" what they don't take into account is the fact that when I liked legos they weren't the ridiculously complicated hundreds of tiny block kits they are today. They used to be simple. Minecraft doesn't really have the feel of old fashioned lego.

That's also what I like so much about the ARPG genre. It's extremely simple on the surface and you can get by just fine by going with the flow, but if you want it there are all the small details.

Minecraft is a setting in which your imagination can run wild! As long as you imagine everything as blocks....

Its actually one of the most innovative games out there, sandbox, build your own world type of game. it is also very cheap and only in beta. a game where you craft your world and explore. one of the most satisfying things to do is creating monuments or epic statues such as nyan cat. or mega creeper. also multiplayer is very fun.

it is also very scary, no jokes
