Leveling gems in chest with BOR?

If I use a BOR can I wear a chest piece like Tabula to level gems? I know stats don't count, but I wondered if gems would still level.

yes gems will gain experience

Nope. Bringer of rain states that you cannot use chest armor at all, so you can't throw on a tabula or any other piece to farm XP for gems.
I keep my a six socket 2h in my secondary equip slot and any gems stored that way will gain XP. |

Gems still get experience though. At least they used to. Haven't tried in a long time. Do you two that say no have personal experience or are you just saying what you think should be the case?

I can confirm that you Can wear chest armor with BOR (put it on first, then BOR, it should become red) and your gems WILL level.
