Graphics Flickering
Hey for the past month or two I've been having issues with poe's graphics flickering in random occurances.
When it happens it tends to be tied to specific monsters / environment pieces etc, and it will be tied to at least one of those monsters / enviro pieces in every single pack / part of the map they appear in. So far I've tried turning shadows off etc, I've installed the latest drivers for my card (R9 270x). I have very little experience sorting this type of thing out so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. For extra info the card is a steady temp, the game doesn't crash after any of it and the only way to fix it is to restart the game. Vsync is on just incase, shadows are off, AA is off and texture qual is high, 2x anisotropic filtering, no post processing etc. ![]() Last edited by lSporadicl#6697 on Oct 3, 2014, 6:21:21 AM

Another pic showing just how bad this can get, sometimes it will eat the entire screen and I can't see anything at all.

did you try resetting your driver options in you control panel and also setting the in-game options to their lowest settings (for testing)?
usually when I see this, it's either the driver is bad, the card itself is bad, or there is a malfunctioning/conflicting setting in the driver control panel (CCC in your case). |

Ill give it a shot, reset my driver settings and set PoE to lowest possible, due to the nature of this anomaly occurring i'll have to play for a bit till i get it.

if it only happens after time, it sounds like either VRAM corruption, or overheating issue.

Been playing for a little while over last night / today and I'm yet to see a bad instance of the glitch happening, had a specific square (about 1x1cm in the bottom right hand corner of the screen) show areas of terrain etc through a loading screen but it's nothing to really poke a stick at.
I'll update here if it happens like it did in the screens over the next week or so, but so far resetting the CCC to factory defaults, then checking that everything under Gaming > 3D application settings was checked as 'use application settings' as well as setting poe's graphics options to their lowest settings. It could very well be heat also, though I keep the pc clean etc the climate doesn't always help. |
