Is Lightning Coil OP?
I've never done a lightning coil build, which is why this is more of a question.
I've also never done a Mind over Matter build, which I'm thinking of finally giving a good solid try. I have gotten plenty of characters to level 85+ and have successfully run 77 maps - particularly a lot easier when everything is frozen. =) But it seems that Armor alone is just not a great system... If you could get enough armor, then you would take no physical damage... So, GGG can't let people get too much armor or that would be crazy OP as well... So then, armor has limited benefit against the crazy scary hits, because it can't be made too OP against everything else? And then, part of this question is that what happens if you get shocked and take more damage... could a very unlucky set of events leave open a lightning coil defense weakness? Biggest problem in all my builds so far is general comfort of defenses in the high level maps. Perhaps because I've been ignoring some very good systems... |

Did anyone die to phys damage since Cwdt + EC + IC ? ;)
Chest is supernice balanced and cant really compete to a really godly rolled armour chest (If you scale your armour properly, and am not talking about bullnyerk crap 10k armour :P) Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

not OP. I built around it, and honestly I didn't see the difference in survival (2H-sword).
I found that to be very surprising so I'm going to try it again. I really like onslaught and endurance charge generation from daresso's defiance, but going for an IC uptime mechanism and losing the end charges when i get hit is becoming a serious problem so lightning coil or a good rare seems like a better option. |

nope
lightning damage can shocked -60 lightning resis |

" well sure, but you build around it, so your resist is still at least 75% (80% withe PoL, 80+% with PoL and aura effect nodes). the -60% just makes it harder to stack resistance, it doesn't result in some sort of higher chance of being shocked. |
