How difficult is level 66 Grotto Map?

I've never done a map before and have two level 66 Grotto Maps (Normal/White) in my stash. When a map is normal without any modifiers, is it just like a normal zone pretty much? Or are there still quirky, potentially dangerous things going on? I was wondering if I could use these unmodified 66 Maps to level up/farm, or if they're dangerous and I should avoid them for awhile (69 Witch/Necro with about 4k Life).
They are harder compare to CB, but most the time they are no where close to some of zone thats already in the game.

You should always at least make it blue, use alteration to roll something you comfortable doing.

You can alchemy it if you want, but if it rolls mod you dont like, its not worth it to chaos.

keep in mind, any map can roll a nasty rare.

the map layout is easier than others

the challenging part are the mobs that spawn in the map which won't be known until you're in the map and the map mods you choose to do map with

using a plain white map to just level up/farm isn't a good use of a map especially solo

you want a continuous supply of maps and the best way to ensure that is to roll mods on the map and playing a high drop % map

also, chaos damage destroys minions

additional elemental damage % mod tends to too

high % quantity on the map isn't always the best, especially on magic maps which can only go up to about 50% or so anyway

high % quantity on a map is always the best to get a chance at more maps

whether a character or group can actually try to play through the map is another question
There are dungeons, there are open fields and there are linear open fields.

The hardest layout you can get for now is the Crematorium(removed?)/Cells map because it drops you into a Cell once you use the stairs and the area around the stairs is filled with mobs which might be really nasty.

Other than that Overgrown Ruin and Shrine have really small boss rooms.

Canyon and Gorge(linear open field) are over if mobs overpower you and force you to retreat.

All other open field maps only have a difficulty depending on the moving direction.

Making the Dock ones easier because you move up than tropical isalnd since you move down there.
