Enfeeble or Temp. Chains vs. Bosses?

I'm wondering which curse is better vs. yellow and orange monsters. I seem to remember reading that Temporal Chains has less effect on bosses but I checked the wiki and it makes no mention of this. Then again whole levels of Enfeeble on it's wiki page have "?" values, which speaks to the quality of said site. Worst wiki I have ever used for a game (and I used to play TQ!) Anyway I would appreciate any advice you can offer!

The wiki is actually in very good shape, considering the magnitude and frequency of changes that the game still goes through. The last patch changed most values on all curse gems, hence the questionmarks. One of the better wikis around.

Ok, that aside, normal, blue and yellow monsters are fully affected by curses. Rogue exiles, map bosses and act bosses are affected less, by 50%, 60% and 70%, respectively.

Best choice of curse depends on the monster. If the monster is a hard hitter that is possible to oneshot you with a crit enfeeble is a better choice. If it's a fast monster that hits for less damage, then temporal chains is probably better.

Heh. Well that is far from the only problem I have seen on the wiki. For ages (up until around the time 1.2 came out) it said that scroll racks only appear in the Catacombs. I farmed Library/Archives quite a bit back then and found plenty in those areas...I could go on and on but that's beside the point.

Thank you for the reply. I was not aware that all curses are diminished against higher rarity monsters. I thought it had something to do with the "slow" effect. Good to know!

Yeah, well, you can't really help it, with the amount of info and frequent changes it can never be perfect. At least it gets the important things right... most of the time.

Good reply, but I guess I'll add my two cents.

Enfeeble is generally the more powerful curse as it reduces so many important values for an enemy's damage output. But as stated already, if an enemy is extremely reliant on attack and movement speed, temporal chains can hold its own.

But for me personally, as a HC player, I find Enfeeble to be the best defensive curse in the game. And this is doubly true if your character can evade and/or blind. It reduces so many important aspects of a monster's damage, particularly crit multiplier (coupled with the marauder node, this is very good).

Generally one or two shot kills (or even three, four, w/e it is, it is fast) are the issue in PoE deaths, particularly in HC. Enfeeble can drastically reduce your chance of getting killed by a shot or two.
