Endgame = 24/7 docks farming. Booooring

Is it true that drop rates for maps in docks decrease with higher levels? If that's the case, that certainly is a serious flaw. You need maps to access areas that are for your level in order to get normal drop rates, but you have to farm in an increasingly less effective area because that's the only place accessible to you if you don't have any more maps. Um.. what?

Nope, it's not true. If you read the Mechanics thread on the Beta General Discussion forums it explains the drop rate penalty. The penalty only applies to currency items, and it is a very small penalty meant only to "normalize" drop rates of orbs/scrolls due to the fact that you are killing things faster.

Maps are not currency items, so they never suffer from any drop rate penalty.

That's nice to hear, thanks! Sadly though I didn't find a map piece in the last two maps either <.< Back to the docks I guess *sigh*

Ive farmed docks lvl 65-70, and never even SEEN a map drop. So I am still trying to get xp at lvl 70 in a level 61 zone...

There really isn't an endgame yet. We don't even have all the content yet.

Maybe re-roll some new characters till we get a new act?

So you play an ARPG and then you bitch about the farming? So what about Diablo 1/2/3? Or many of the other ARPG's? Seriously why don't you look into a game before investing time and bitching about it? They're supposedly working on extra Act 3 content and act 4, but at the same time THEY'RE FIXING BUGS/CATERING TO PLAYERS.... They're not a gigantic company, so they can't do 10 tasks at once. Just be patient and it's get better come full game. I can't even imagine how great it already is. I really don't mind the leveling at lvl 60atm, while farming drops. I find it exciting to find stuff. Most of my goal is to level high enough to mow down everything from act 2 and mostly act 3 so I can farm the docks efficiently. That's exciting to me. Maybe you need to just quit the game and go back to WoW

The end game levels are not even in yet. You have basically outlvled an open beta in a week - grats. Look if youre bored, try this on HC with another char...

If you are so bored, stop farming the easiest area/optimal
D3 had only had/has only act 3 to farm effeciently. There were no maps that dropped on the side. ( I like to show how better PoE is than D3.

). You can change scenery / do something that challenges you.. You are not restricted to that area. ( You don't have to farm optimally.. which will help distract you off the sole fact you want maps to drops.

You have currency, maybe trade for a map.

This game is about the grind.

There will always be some "best" area to go to.

For now its the docks. And if you are sick of it this close since open beta started, i don't know what to say to that, maybe you don't like these type of games?
