Middle mouse button not usable on many mice.

Having played the beta a couple of days now, I am beginning to get annoyed at the fact that I can only use 7 skills while other people can apparently use 8. I don't have a middle mouse button, and thus I have only two usable buttons on my mouse.

This is rather silly as I have a total of 7 buttons on my mouse, but none of them acts as a middle mouse button. Now, I could mess with the driver of the mouse and make mouse-3 act as middle, but I would rather not have to change that back and forth every time I play.

Since almost every other key can be reset, I see no reason to not allow the middle mouse skill to be as well.

You don't have a scroll-wheel....The middle mouse button is under that for most mice? Just press down on that.
It's the same for me I have 3 mice and 3 middle buttons (wheels) and they only work as left clicks. If it helps I use A4tech mice models x6-60d GLASER, G7-750 wireless and X-750f (high DPI work). I suspect the drivers and utilities and if so well no point complaning!

Not on my Razer nor on my Intellipoint. For both of them I have no middle mouse button, and frankly, if I did, and it was the scroll wheel, that would be terribly inconvenient to press in battle.
If you're using a Razer mouse, surely updating your drivers to set one of your 7 buttons to act as a middle mouse button should be a doddle.

By any chance, does your mouse support multiple profiles?

/edit

Being able to remap the button would be ideal.

Even if you have a scroll wheel, it's pretty terrible when trying to use it as a button :/

Its not, just You have to used to it :), i have not problem to cast curses with my 'scroll button', same i havent got issues to use my 'scroll button' for lean right in medal of honor: allied assault ;P

And i think You are able to change every button You want in menu, right? [havent even checked that, because i like a default setup, i used similar in D2]

I don't think it is in the best interest of the game to have new users fiddle with drivers to just be able to use the features in the game. Making it an option is a lot easier if they want new players to stay.

Having to do things like fiddle with drivers is just part of PC gaming, and it's ridiculous to try and hold an abnormality in the way your mouse manufacturer implements their buttons against Grinding Gears.

It's an industry wide standard that Mouse 3 is triggered by pressing in the scroll wheel.

I don't disagree, but mouse 3 has been a standard button on mice for years.

Sure, it isn't ideal to click the scroll wheel down (I personally always change bindings to thumb buttons because I hate mouse 3), but it is a default bind, and is trivial to fix if you're using something like a Razer mouse.
