Do you/have you watched anime?
I watch anime myself quite regularly. I personally enjoy more action oriented animes like (such as darker then black).
I also have a fairly bad memory, so I forget what I have watched, heh. Which works out quite well, since I can watch the same series over and over again. |

I would rate what everyone else has recommended, but I cannot be bothered. Nor do I want to find the "list of recommended anime for newcomers". Instead I'll just post my top 5 anime you should watch right now at the top of my head. You know, stuff you'd want to watch twice.
1. Hunter x Hunter (original) - The prime example of what I'd go for when looking for an intelligent shonen/action anime. It's story is simple to follow with interesting characters and yet it's still dark, edgy and deep, with excellent cinematography for it's time and genre. Check it out. Oh, and the OST is awesome. And DO NOT WATCH the 2011 version, because that is fucking shit, and Koujina Hiroshi needs to step down from his role as director and kill himself. Just take my word for it and stick to the goddamn original, or start reading the manga, okay? 2. Kuragehime - The prime example of what a josei/drama should be. It combines a cast of loveable characters with a calm and soothing story, with plenty of gags to keep your sides reeling. While the underlying themes are quite dark, it's presented in a way that's lovely yet bittersweet - a stark contrast to what you'd usually expect a drama. Oh, and the OST is awesome. 3. Shiki - The prime example of what makes a seinen/thriller good. Yes, this series starts off slowly. Yes, it's ridiculously and unnecessarily camp at times. But the story is wonderfully executed, with issues that do make you question your very moral fiber. Oh, and the OST is awesome. Actually, I don't think can be bothered with any more descriptions. Go watch the following, NOW: Kino's Jorney (aka Kino no Tabi), Azumanga Daioh, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (first season, original airing order), Arakawa: Under the Bridge, Cross Game, Katanagatari, Abenobashi Maho Shotengai, Monster, Nodame Cantabile, anything by brains base (Durarara, Baccano, Mawaru Pengwindum ect). Can't remember any more as of now. huh, what why are you reading hthis? Last edited by CodeOrange#5604 on Oct 13, 2011, 2:35:59 AM
