How Much is Too Much Health?

My highest character at the moments is level 62. He is a molten strike Templar. I use a one handed weapon and a shield for extra tankyness. I've been planning out my skill tree adding even more % health nodes on top of my current nodes already adding up to 134%.

My question is, generally how much should I increase my health by these percents for this type of toon?

150%? 175? 200?

Thanks in advance
You can tell a man's worth by how much truth he can take.
There is no such thing as too much health :)

But the sweet spot for non-HC melees would be 170-180% or something. However, that's just a guideline, if it would take too much effort to get more than 160% you can settle on that, but if you can easily grab 200%, do it.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I've seen some recommendations in the forums for life--looking at it as total life based on passives and equipment (don't forget how much equipment can amp your life).

~600 at the end of normal
1700 at the end of cruel
3-4k to be able to run maps in merciless

Depending on the build, some people can do it with less life. And full resists are recommended to mitigate damage.
Pre 1.2 the sweet spot was around 150-200% for most builds but with base health per level now increased by 50%(!) and the related health node nerf you should aim for 120-150%. That being said, more life is always better but not at the cost of too much damage, resists or secondary defenses like evasion, armor and block.
Your +134% are good and personally i'd rather focus on getting other stuff than more health unless you can do so with minimal point investment.

Depends on what league you are in. I personally wouldn't go with a ton of life in Rampage. Get damage, clear maps/bosses, find items. Just have enough that you arent detrimental to your own progression by flopping over every time something difficult hits you.

I think right now 130-150 is good for Rampage(maybe, I play Beyond), and 150-170+ is good for Beyond. I'm currently sitting at 187 in Beyond on a 81 Cleave duelist, and will probably get another 20% at least, because I'm right at it.

If he was on SC however, I would probably stop before now and get dmg.
