Every account created is added to the list when it's created. If the account posts at least once then its name is added another 9 times giving it 10 chances to be selected. So i'd be guessing thousands are in the list...

Where did you get that information from?

Chris from GGG made a post a while ago. Unfortunately my linking threads isn't working atm. But its called something like "forum users now 10 times more likely to get into beta". If I can link it soon I will. As for the amount I guessed at in the waiting list, its purely a guess. I have no idea how big the selection pool is.
Its somewhere in one of these ~900 pages...

I still don't buy it, I think rather than putting maybe a dozen or so lines of code that quantifies the last login date and selecting people who have logged in within no longer than a month, they added a dozen or so lines of code that quantifies the last login date and selects accounts that have been inactive for at least a month. For all I've seen it might even be weighted for longer inactivity. This is clearly a case of trying to shill active players into forking over the money through frustration. I can't honestly blame them for trying, they need money and lot's of it to do something like this, but I'm not forking over 10 bucks to have all my characters wiped. That is why I won't play till the open beta.

Simply not true. The timer is completely random, don't forget that there were already many accounts years ago. Also, most of the newer accounts (that tried the public weekends, for example) have already bought a supporter pack, I'd guess.
darn.. the wait is killing me.. haha
I guess i'll have to watch this timer ever so closely

There's some small very tiny hope. Just saw a member that joined yesterday on the timer. That's pretty cool.
*Double post* Dunno what happened.

And that's also why smaller games companies go bust. Because people like you simply want to leech from the product they are giving and have no intention of ever supporting the development
I'm not getting de gadget timer to run properly on mine computer... Anyone can explain to me how to install the gadget? After downloading the file, what to do next?
