Strongbox one shots

Ice Nova not so much but this one combo I didn't read correctly and it was instant:

Freeze and Explode

On my witch that had 20% fire res at the time.
She has bad luck.

Freeze is generally bad.
Explode there is time to run away from.
Freeze+ Explode = she die.

I stand by the box, cast lighting warp away from the box, then click the box. You'll still get the immediate effect, but increase the likelihood of survival from other factors.

So we just reroll any frost nova strongboxes. Any other 1-shot mods out there? It would be good if we can have a list of stuff to watch out for.

1-shot mods?

None.

The only other really dangerous combos IMHO are Freeze+Detonate and Freeze+Exile (depending on the exile.)

Both of which can be solved by Whirling Blades or Lightning Warping away from the box as you click it.

The burning mod fucking hurts if you don't have good regen though.

Lightning warp is the only solution I mentioned, because everything else (like whirling blades) you have to click AFTER you click the box which doesn't solve the problem.. Lightning Warp you use BEFORE you click the box.

Yes there is most certainly something you can do about it.

Ice nova is a joke, died the other day with 1 shot 5290->0, but it was -20% max res. The other day I dropped from 5290->around 700 no -max res mod... That's plain stupid.

If you click Whirling Blades at the same time you open a Freeze box, you will be frozen at the end of your Whirling Blades path. It's not even that hard to time.

Haven't been able to do this with Leap Slam though.

Ice Nova hurts every time, even at the edges. But I've never been 1-shot by it. I did die once to a strongbox that wasn't my fault, however. It was an easy blue box. I clicked it and gtfo like normal but the resync warped me right back next to the box in to shotgun range of some flaming dogs and I melted. I took the night off and came back the next morning.
