Buzz Noise
I just got on a couple of minutes ago and updated my PoE. After updating the game, I logged on and there is this buzzing noise. I muted the in game volume controls but the buzzing noise is still around. I then muted the game from master control volume in windows but the buzzing noise still didn't go away. I thought that maybe it was my head phones so I swapped out headphones and I'm still getting the buzzing noise from other multiple headphones. Then I thought maybe it's my computer, so I then opened up other programs and games and the buzzing noise does not occur in any of my internet browsers or games besides when I play PoE.

Does the buzzing noise come from somewhere specifically? like perhaps the monitor itself?
Can you try to isolate the SOURCE of the buzzing noise (not the program, but where physically the sound is coming from). Usually buzzing comes from hardware doing funky things. Isolating where it is coming from can help diagnose what's causing it. PoE is very intensive and high-demand. It can cause hardware to work harder than normal, which in some instances can cause issues. |

I'm not sure if the game is the main and sole cause, but the buzzing noise can he heard clearly when I put on my headphones. When I took off my headphones to try to listen to the buzzing noise from my laptop's speakers I can't hear anything. The buzzing noise only comes on when I have on headphones and when PoE is on as far as I can tell.

So then the buzzing is coming through the headphones only?
If so, sounds like it could be some electromagnetic interference. Is the cable sitting on anything? Does the buzzing go away immediately after shutting down PoE and return when PoE is opened? What happens if you start PoE by adding -ns to the shortcut target (or launch options if you use Steam)? That should disable sound and hopefully cause it to not buzz. Also, do you have the volume set strangely where the in-game audio is low, but the master volume is high in Windows? Causing too much gain interference or something? |
