Tornado Shot mechanics?

Is there a thread or dev post laying out how the damage from the AOE portion of Tornado Shot works? I've been using it with great success on a couple of different builds but am interested to know how it can be further maximized.
I'm not sure what you're talking about, because Tornado shot has no AoE of any kind. There's a round visual effect where the first arrow hits, but that's purely a visual thing and doesn't indicate an AoE. There's just arrows - one primary arrow which always pierces, and then three other arrows without that piercing property that fire from where the first arrow hits.
how does tornado shot interact with point blank?

Thanks! The visual threw me off, it looks like explosion damage. Do each of the three arrows hit with the full force of the attack damage, or is it divided among them?

"Deals x% of Base Damage"

If the skill doesn't say that the other arrows do different damage then they don't. And it doesn't.

Point Blank is always calculated from the initial position the Skill was used. So it is your position or I guess if a totem uses it, it is the totems position.

point blank is based on how far the projectiles have travelled. Just like with forking, all the arrows that split from the original arrow are considered to have been that original arrow, so the distance they've travelled is the total the original arrow travelled to hit, plus how far from that point the specific arrow checked has travelled since then.
Good to Know thanks !

It doesn't mention a penalty of any kind.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
