Is there any way to make Tempest Shield stronger?

There is no viable way to make a reflect build on POE. Ive been trying since I joined. They have the ability to reflect damage, but its fucking useless, and weak.

Cold to Fire support is a start.

Pyre unique ring might be better for removing chill potential.

I remember someone managed to create a build around tempest shield in close beta or shortly after it, that was pretty potent dmg wise. Was 2 shotting most mobs or killing them instantly.

He did have it 6 linked tough. And added lifeleech so his hp was jumping up and down constantly (not a HC build), but in the end, its not a good skill to build around killing enemies with, because you have to rely on enemies hitting you. And that means every enemy that hits you slowly but for a lot of damage, would take forever to kill.

Definetly bad for clearing maps, but holy shit, i hope noone makes an exile like that, chasing you around with RF and if you try to kill him you kill yourself on him.

The obvious thing to do is to combine Tempest Shield with other kinds of retaliation. For instance Tempest Shield + armour + Molten Shell used to be (still is?) a popular combo. Another option is to use Tempest Shield on an ES-focused build that has no extra stun protection, but combine it with spells linked to Cast when Stunned. You get stunned a lot even just blocking things, but you don't care because your enemies are still getting blasted. Finally, there are those crazy masochist builds that use Cast when Damage Taken offensively (and possibly Shackles of the Wretched for self-punishment when the mobs aren't hitting you enough).

Tempest shield is about max block, max spell block and leech on blocks builds not DPS per se. Bumping DPS would be OP as hell. It already is when you got 75% blocks.

It's a very handy skill. Love it and it will return the love ;)
Especially on a high block crit build the Life Leech from TS's damage adds quite a bit to your own safety. Wouldn't miss the extra leech from 2500 average damage...
Grab some shock nodes, put on a Three Dragons, augment your Tempest Shield with RedMana+Elemental Proliferation = screen frozen.
Add a PCoC for a constant stream of charges without wasting a slot on your main skill.
Or take Avatar of Fire and augment TS with Chance to Ignite and Proliferate and enjoy that nifty extra damage from Flame Surge as a "mini Righteous Fire".

Besides, those tittie bitches and chimerae are good at killing themselves with a max block Tempest shield build.
