Is Curse On Hit + Traps not intended to work?
Direct spells and attacks trigger "on hit" effects, as well as totems.
Traps and minions do not trigger "on hit" effects like curse on hit (or elemental equilibrium). What some players are doing is putting an elemental spell on a totem with curse on hit, to trigger both elemental equilibrium and a curse with the same secondary skill. Then they use direct attacks or casting to get their main damage done, with one or two different elements. For example, an arc totem with curse on hit and elemental weakness will trigger elemental equilibrium and curse mobs with elemental weakness, allowing cold and fire damage to hit much harder. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Spells that are made into traps/mines by the use of the Trap or Mine support gems cannot be triggered by any trigger gem but will still be disabled when linked to an applicable trigger gem. Traps, mines, and totems cannot trigger curse on hit.
