Developer Question: Point blank + Tornadoshot

How does Point Blank work with Tornadoshot.

Is it Like [1]. The Tornado-projectile is not the center of Point Blank - It's the players position/distance to the Monsters?

So If you shoot Tornadoshot right into yourself. Have all Projectiles caused by Tornadoshot a Constant 50% Damage by Point blank - ALL their travel path

Or Is it Like [2]. They don't have a Constant 50% Damage buff. So They loose damage their travel.

Or is it Like [3]. The Center for Point Blank is not the player. It's The Tornado projectile.
So the 50% damage bonus applies always next to the Tornadoshot-Arrow proc (Like it's with chain)?

Good question....been wondering this myself. Bump.
"Truth be told, I have no idea what the fuck is going on anymore." Stephen Hawkins
I think point blank is determined by total amount of space crossed by projectile

so if you shot tornado at 45 distance from you and radius of tornado is 5, end point of tornado will have 50 points crossed in every direction

That is also the case for mechanics like fork/chain/pierce etc

The question here is, is the tornado a entity on it´s own or is it still considered the same arrow(s) fired by the player.

What can never be lent or earned?
Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything:
A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones.
Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings.
What am i?

Point blank is entirely based off the distance traveled. iirc it drops off to its lowest damage about half a screens worth away. Dont use it unless you like you a good clusterfuck, like you should.
HAIL SATAN!
I can highly recommend going for Point Blank Passive Key stone with Tornado Shot. You should just get a little bit closer to the mobs but the extra damage is so damn good it is really worth it.

I am using this combo in the Rampage league and it seems to me that even for mobs a screen away the damage still holds up. The difference from not use Point blank is that you will not kill monsters 2 screens away, which was sometimes the case when not using Point blank.
any updates?!
Damn, this again? Besides being answered left and right you also got a dev response quoted on the last page of 'tornado shot' thread in skill section.

And it does work like chain/pierce, damage drops off to the split point and then continues to drop for each projectile spawned.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Excuse me? Do you just make things up on the fly or something? I checked the entire 6 pages of the Tornado Shot skill thread and there is not a single Dev post other than the OP. And as far as I know, point-blank + tornado-shot interaction has never been commented on by a Dev. There is nothing wrong with asking again if no one knows for sure how it works.

Edit: Nevermind, I see now that you said "quoted". Sorry. There is indeed a quote of Chris from a PM:

Also somewhere you said yourself that new projectiles created by a projectile have their own seperate calculations if need to be.

"

A long time ago before that was fixed, yes. Projectiles now correctly measure the total distance they've travelled, not resetting for cases like chain fork or the tornado shot split. The arrows from tornado shot all travelled from your bow to the targeted location, and from there outwards, the total distance is counted.

If a trap fires the skill then the trap is where the projectiles started travelling from, just like you're the origin for projectiles when you fire them.

Anyways, still no harm in asking additional questions.
