Added fire damage gem. Does it work on spells?

This one seems a bit weird compared to lightning/cold as the bonus depends on attached weapon.
If you had a 100 physical damage weapon with fireball and added fire damage linked, would say, 40% of your equipped weapon's damage(40) be added to fireball? |

Nope it doesnt do anything on spells which is a shame coz Id love to add fire damage along with lightning damage to my Ice Nova so that it could inflict all the elemental statuses.
I use my fire damage gem along with weapon elemental damage on Glacial Hammer, its fun when stuff is being chilled / frozen / burned / shattered, but unfortunately its single target only. (b) Personal abuse, foul language, inappropriate subject matter, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory or defamatory remarks of any nature ... are not permitted.

" oO? Are you quite certain of that? Last time I checked, Added Fire Damage would add a portion of the physical damage dealt as fire damage. Yes, Ice Nova does not deal any physical, so there's no damage added. However, as far as I know there is no limitation regarding spells per se. |

It works with any spell that does physical damage. It also works on bear Trap and other non-attacks.

It works with EK last time I checked, so yes it does work on spells that do phys dmg.

Added Fire Damage is only converted from Physical Damange, if you wanted the Elemental Trifecta then you could do something like Ice Nova + Cold to Fire + Add Lightning. Currently running this in Spell Totem build with Ice Spear and its great to watch the mobs get Crit, Frozen, Stunned and Ignited all at the same time..
