Arc - making it the most effective

Wait until you get to high 60 maps. I don't say this from personal knowledge since OB began, but from what the top Witches on the ladder have indicated.

In CB, my sparker was my best killer - safe and deadly. She could 1-2 shot (max) Merciless Act 2 Gneiss.

What changed?
They nerfed the shit out of Spark damage by changing the way it pierces.

//Edit: The reason why I hold onto Arc is because I am pretty sure that it will get buffed next patch. Its single target DPS isnt bad, the damage for mana ratio just sucks. They could easily fix that by making the spell cost less when only hitting one target or change something about the way it jumps.

My main dmg spell atm is spark with fork, crit chance and crit multiplier.

I have a totem with arc supported with crit chance because i think that when it crits it always applies shock.
Every Lightning spell ALWAYS applies shock when it crits.

The thing that makes Arc extremely good in my opinion is a quality version. Simply because a fully upgraded one already gives you 20% chance to shock by default, you dont even need to crit. Coupled with a few nodes from the Talent tree you can go up to 50% shock chance without having to crit, ideal for HC.

And i am a crit witch, so it is even more effective. This is the reason why i don't consider arc like complete crap: you can use it as a shocking totem.

The piercing change to spark was not actually what has gimped end game witches per se. Clearly that change is nto a good one, but I don't think it is a disaster for spark, as it appleid only in very specific circumstances anyway (and in thsoe circumstances spark really was OP).

What has gimped many witches is the fact that they have removed the "% more ES" frmo the CI nodes, AND, reduced the base ES of armour. It means nwo that it's easier to stack life than ES, and life >> ES even at the same absolute value.
