when the internet was having a few people, I was there, I used it already in 1995. Let me tell you, most of people didn't know what internet was, or even had a pc.
Today, almost everybody has the internet and can write their stupid ideas in blogs, facebook, newspapers comments, youtube comments and all the bulllshit you can read everywhere now.
All I see today is a majority of people are stupid and write stupid things, but that's democracy, people have the right to express their idiot opinions...
I can only remember that internet when it was only for elites, was a better place. lol...

Despite your troll like attitude, it actually WAS better back then.

1) there were no advertisements
2) most everything was categorically listed on yahoo/gopher
3) virtually every single page and file was real content, with real information... that was actually useful!
4) 12 billion opinions didnt clutter a search result
5) the government didnt give a damn about what you were doing
6) and best of all; trolls didnt exist! Or if they did, they would get instantly banned by sys ops who actually gave a damn

Of course this was back in 92.

In 1995, I was using mosaic on unix solaris LOL, before even netscape. I remember the crashes ..I saw yahoo coming too , and from yahoo and aol, things went bad.

PC user since 1992 (commodore 64 before that) online since 1996 or 1997, can't remember. Can I be in your club of cool guys or not enough? When I started my online adventures there were supposedly 10k people with internet access in my country of origin.

EDIT: officialy the internet started in 1995 in my place, only universities etc. had access before that.
