I need a math nerd please! (Mana reservation question)

I'm a little lost here on exactly how this would play out mathematically. Could someone please let me know how much 1 aura would cost in game that is 60% and 40% under these conditions.

Blood Magic Keystone
Mortal Conviction, after Blood Magic (40% LESS mana reserved)
Prism Guardian (25% reduced mana reserved)
46% Reduced Mana Reserved (from Tree)
Level 21 Reduced mana in the Prism Guardian (30% reduced mana reserved)

So, mana reductions are 25%+30%+46% and also a 40% Less. I'm assuming
the reductions don't add up otherwise it would be 101% reduced which by
itself would make the 2 auras in the shield free.

If this requires you to know my life pool, and isn't calculated by percentages,
just assume it's for a 3000 life character.

Thanks in advance!

The 46% and 25% do add together but the 30% is separate and the 40% less is also separate. Basically, with some rounding involved it'll be (1 - 30%) * (1 - 46% - 25%) * (1 - 40%) = 12%. Again, that's not exact and will depend on the gem setup, but it's close enough.

So a 60% aura would cost 12% of my life? so a 40% would cost 8%? Is that correct?

And thanks!

It would actually be 60% times that percentage. Due to rounding I think it'll be 8% for a 60% aura and 5% for a 40% aura. These's an online aura calculator that's pretty good. I forget the web address though.

Mikelat's is guaranteed to be accurate. The older one doesn't always round properly.

In short:
1. RM is a separate multiplier, round down.
2. Reduced is additive, Less is multiplicative, calculate as follows:
(100 - %Reduced) * (100 - %Less) / 100 - 100 = total %-Reduction
3. Base Reserve * total %-Reduction = final Reduction, round down
4. Base Reserve - final Reduction = final Reservation

Step 2 is only required if you have both Reduced and Less type multipliers, of course. :)

60 * 0.7 = 42
(100 - (46+25)) * (100 - 40) / 100 - 100 = -82.6, rounds to 82%
42 * 0.82 = 34.44, round to 34
42 - 34 = 8% Reserved

--------
A level 21 RM gets you nothing over a level 20 RM:
60 * 0.71 = 42.6, rounds to 42%
60 * 0.70 = 42%

40 * 0.71 = 28.4, rounds to 28%
40 * 0.70 = 28%

You need to hit level 22 to get any benefit, which you cannot do in a Prism Guardian (only grants +1 Level to Aura Gems).

So if the prism guardian were corrupted with +1 all gems, then it would be worth the level 21 RM, otherwise not. Thanks.
