hello
i am doing a cast on death build that uses many firestorms / discharge/ and a portal gem
so
sometimes my gems dont trigger . but CoD says 100% chance to cast supported spells on death
i wouldnt really care if a firestorm didnt trigger ... but first of all it should be 100%
and second my portal doesnt trigger wich is essential to my build .
its very annoying sometimes and id be happy if itll be fixed

It has a 100% success rate at casting a spell which doesn't have a 100% success rate and you want it to change how the spell works?

Correct me if i'm wrong but discharge won't cast with out charges to expend right? if you die you loose all charges and can't cast it

no the charges would start vanishing slowly but discharge triggers instantly before that happens

Effects are not removed from corpses, that's why you can Proliferate Burn and Shock from corpses. It works fine.

Some effects aren't, but charges definitely are (and yes, they're all removed instantly when you die - the way they play their fading out animation is staggered after that point though).
However, removal of buffs/charges/effects on death is one of the last things to happen when you die, so CoD Discharge should be able to find the charges when it attempts to cast, since that'll be before it tries to cast.
That might not, however, be the case on the client - if it serialises the removal of the charges before the Discharge action (both of which happen in the same frame, so this is possible), then on the client Discharge wouldn't display as it wouldn't find charges to use. But it would still have happened on the server and apply damage.
Actually, that's already been fixed. Server-initiated discharges explicitly create the visual effect on the server and serialise it to the client so it still shows in this case.
We've never had CoD fail to cast locally, so I have no idea what would cause what the OP is describing.

yes cod discharge works or else i wouldt be running this build
thought i mentioned it earlier
but thats not the problem
the problem is .. that in some rare occasions my PORTAL gem will not be activated by a cast on death gem
how can it fail with 100% chance to cast ??

Portals can fail to appear if there is no room to place them. If you are surrounded by a horde of monsters, it is possible for the skill to fail because there is no free space to create a portal object.
This applies to both the skill gem spell and the item, though if the item fails it is not consumed.
Could this be it?
