Crusader Build Phys Dmg Offtank / Sword n Shield Build / IB Pwr Lvl / Or LS, GS, DS, MS

Hello my fellow exiles !

My name is Rawd from twitch.tv (twitch.tv/therawd) and I am here to present you the Crusader Templar Build !

Pretty much an Offtank + Phys Dmg Sword and Shield Templar !

:: REROLE ::

If you are one of those guys that read the post and thouhght let's give it a try, start by doing this:

IMPORTANT:

- Create 4 new Templar Chars, Kill Hilhock, Receive Reward Gem, Stash it !
- On the number 4, grab the maces + gems and equip them to start level the gems. Grab any more gems as you can, cause an empty gem socket is a waste of xp.
- Equip any uniques, rares or magics you might have on your stash to give you a little edge.
- Join or create public parties. Party is the way man !
- Most of all have fun

:: GEMS ::

IMPORTANT:

- Start by equiping an unique, rare, magic or white bow for leveling + Rain Of Arrows (Green Gem)
- By level 4 get an Infernal Blow (Red Gem) and equip it to level in your secondary weapon set
- When you get Added Fire Damage (Red Gem) link it with Infernal Blow (Red Gem)
- When you can add Multistrike (Red Gem) and/or Melee Splash (Red Gem) and/or Melee Physical Damage (Red Gem) to Infernal Blow (Red Gem)
- When you can add Blood Magic (Red Gem) to Infernal Blow (Red Gem)

Triggers:

- Cast When Damage Taken (Red Gem) (Lvl 1) + Enfeeble (Blue Gem) (Lvl 5) + Enduring Cry (Red Gem) (Lvl 5) + Molten Shell (Red Gem) (Lvl 5)
- Blood Rage (Green Gem) + Increased Duration (Gem) + Immortal Call (Red Gem)

Auras:

IMPORTANT:

- As a templar you can pretty much run a primary aura DPS or with DEF stats plus a secondary aura, in this build case Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Most important thing is keep in mind to not level rush clarity or you will be forced to play with tons of blood magic, or even the blood magic node, cause it will waste all your mana

Tank Stats:

- Determination (Red Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Grace (Green Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Vitality (Red Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Purity Of Elements (Blue Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Any purity of (Colour Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)

DPS Stats:

- Anger (Red Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Haste (Green Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Hatred (Blue Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)

When your reduced mana reaches a higher level you can start connecting some auras.
You might wanna try this out:

- Determination (Red Gem) + Grace (Green Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Vitality (Red Gem) + Purity Of Elements (Blue Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Purity Of Element X (Gem) + Purity Of Element Y (Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)

Same goes for the DPS side, you get it.

- Anger (Red Gem) + Haste (Green Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Anger (Red Gem) + Hatred (Blue Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)
- Haste (Green Gem) + Hatred (Blue Gem) + Reduced Mana (Gem) + Clarity (Blue Gem) (Lvl 1)

QQ PLEASE

:: ITEMS ::

Helmet, Chest, Gloves, Belt, Boots, Amulet, Rings :

- Life / Armour / Res / Evasion / Energy Shield / Magic Find / Movement Speed

Weapons:

- One Handed Sword (Phys Damage / Attack Speed / Elemental Damage) / One Handed Mace / One Handed Axe / One Handed Dagger
- Shield (Maybe the most important of this build, is the sword and shield wombo combo, so respect that, and always respect the dogs) With the most Block chance you got
- Also a bit of Life / Armour / Evasion / Energy Shield / Res / MF wouldn't hurt in a white, magic, rare, unique shield

IMPORTANT:

The following items are for the ones who can afford them. Not saying they are cheap.

- Crest Of Perandus (Shield) - TOP
- Bringer Of Rain (Helmet) - Good Stats
- Mana Leech Rings / Amulets / Gloves

:: PASSIVE TREE ::

Right now I am testing this build in HC month run, I am already getting in ACT 3 Normal, but as far as you are concerned, I started with some health nodes and some melee damage and one handed damage.

Passive start

Spoiler

- Then go down on RT

Passive tree mid game

Spoiler

Add more Dex / Str as needed

If you want more sustain (Tank Path / Guardian Path) take health nodes (Red) / Armour (Red) / Res

If you want more Dps (Assassin Path / Warrior Path) take health nodes (Red) / Phys Dmg / Area Damage / Effect / Fire Damage / Life leech Gloves / Rings / Amulets

:: Farming Maps ::

- Start by joining any open public party around your level or a bit above it
- Equip your items with the most MF (Magic Find) and equip a Granite Flask (Armour)
- Not only having a Granite Flask (Armour) is necessary at all times, but also any other Res Flask like Topaz, Saphire and Ruby depending on the map mobs.
- Think beforehead and therefore your shall fight another day.

Before Lvl 10 :

- Coast (Act 1)
- Mud Flats (Act 1)
- Fetid Pools (Act 1)

After Lvl 10 Before Lvl 20 :

- The Ledge (Act 1)
- The Climb (Act 1)
- The Prison (Act 1)

After Lvl 20 Before Lvl 30 :

- The Shipyards (Act 1)
- Caverns Of Wrath (Act 1)
- The Den (Act 2)
- Blackwood (Act 2)

After Lvl 30 Before Lvl 40 :

- Fellshrine Ruins (Act 2)
- The Crypts (Act 2)
- Chamber of Sins (Act 2)
- Dealing with Bandits (Act 2)
- Caverns (Act 2)

After Lvl 40 Before Lvl 50 :

- The Docks (Act 3)

IMPORTANT:

When reaching the coast for the first time after being assigned with your second quest, dont walk into that quest map boldy. First go Mud Flats and take the wp. Then go to do the quest. And if you don't wanna walk back, or tp to Lyone's Watch, do one of two thigs.

- Walk in Mud Flats and get WP back home

- Press Esc (Escape Key) and choose Exit To Character Selection

This allows you to go to town 100% faster and saves you one portal scroll and they might come in handy till you get your hand son a Portal (Gem)

When reaching Act 2 start by going all the way left, then go right, then farm fellshrine, crypt, sins, vaal, bandits, caverns, act 3

When reaching Act 3 leave a portal outside the emcampement so when you go in town you don't have to walk back to enter the slums. Just take your tp back and walk up :D

:: Leave your comments bellow, and thanks for reading ::

IMPORTANT:

By any means this guide tells you have to choose Infernal Blow (Red Gem) as your main Damage Skill. You can switch it depending on your weapon, for example Dual Strike (Green Gem), Ground Slam (Red Gem), Leap Strike (Red Gem), Infernal Blow (Red Gem), Molten Strike (Red Gem), Glacial Hammer (Red Gem)
