Hi everybody, i used to play with a friend (that has Isp Teletu in italy..) and he just can't patch the gain. he tried downloading the installer from the site again and the message is the same. He appears to be able to do anything else (playing other games, watching vids etc) so i exclude that is a internet problem. He tried swtiching off antivirus and firewall. " You can't exclude the internet as being a problem just because "other games" work. That's not how the internet works. Think of the internet like a city.. with buildings and roads and other things. Now think about the path to get to the grocery store from your house, and think about going to the same store from across town (maybe on the other side of the store). Now lets say that store is Path of Exile. What your statement amounts to is you saying "there is nothing wrong with the road because I can get to the library fine" (the library being "other games"). See how silly that sounds? the library has NOTHING to do with the route to get to the grocery store. And just because YOU can get to the grocery store from your end of town, doesn't mean there isn't some road construction or other issue on the other side of town preventing people from easily accessing the store. Generally, the issue you described is nothing BUT an internet issue... although it could be local network VS "general network"... as in, it could be antivirus, firewall, security software, or it could be ISP issues or blockages... etc. If they're on a campus/corporate network and not a "home residential internet" connection, then it almost guaranteed is an issue with their firewall hardware not configured to allow access to Path of Exile. |

He tried without both firewall and antivirus. while i get your point that other games are not good comparisons, there is nothing else that make me think that it is HIS problem.

" What type of connection is he on? Is there a chance that it is a "managed" internet like on a college campus or corporate network? Something that might have their own firewall setup? Does it work if he attempts to connect to Path of Exile while connected to a VPN? Instructions for setting up and using a free VPN can be found in the Consolidated Technical sticky post. I don't recommend playing while connected to the VPN, but if he can connect then, there is almost certainly something in the network blocking him. |

" Garena is unrelated... they have their own servers. If you are playing on Garena then you need to use the Garena support forums. As for using GGG's servers, you should probably be using the Singapore gateway from SEA.
