Priority in vendor recipe
" Wow, that would be great. " Possibly, well as the game deems a single augmentation orb to be more important than possibly quite a lot of alch shards AND more alt shards alone than the actual value of the aug, yeah -_- It's worth noting, the use value of a whetstone is far more than it originally was (chisel recipe). But yeah, a whetstone for a 20% magic item > 2 alt shards (or even a wiz scroll frag, I think this still blocks the stone result). Casually casual. " It was suggested many times by many players (incl. me) but now when there are strongboxes to roll, Im permanently out of Augs so now this recipe makes much more sense to me and I dont feel being ripped of by this any more ps: I was trying to buy Augs in Ambush few times with no success :/ IGN: Eric_Lindros

I think these last few posts illustrate one very important point in all of this. GGG has tried, as much as possible, to let the PLAYERS decide what the relative values of currency items are rather then setting those values themselves. This is especially true for higher valued currencies. This is one of the benefits of using various different orbs rather than a single currency like gold.
The problem is when it comes to setting priorities on vendor recipes like this, they can't always just pick the more valuable one because they may not KNOW which one is worth more. Is an alchemy orb worth more or less than 7 jewelers? They don't decide that, we do. How many alchemy shards is an augmentation orb worth? Again, we decide that and it varies over time. The various vendor recipes might set upper or lower boundaries on price ratios and they will of course know how rare each type of orb is and have some idea how we might value them, but in some cases, it might not be so obvious. |

Reason I made this thread:
I found it weird to get offered 1 chance instead of 14 jewellers. I learned: Multicomponent recipes have higher priority than single component ones. Usually seems alright, in this case you would get "cheated" if you mindlessly sold your stuff. But you can obviously sell them separated, so it doesn't matter too much. I'm satisfied. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

Gives a Chromatic. Does not give a Whetstone. Satisfies the criteria for both. Annoying.
TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.

" this is a fair point - if an item (single one!) meets criteria of two+ recipes it should give outcomes of all of them before people start shouting - there are just FEW instances when it it possible and linked item is one of (i think) 3 possible (other being 6s + chrome + whetsone combos) also - augs.. can it be so, that any result that gives alch shards takes precedence before augs? i do 'identified' chaos recipe and i specifically select 'aug' items as components and vendor other one. augs are pretty much worthless except for rolling boxes and low maps. and one can get 30 of them without even trying.. btw- 5Link vendor recipe. when? vendoring 5links should give something extra given how incredibly rare these are to drop |

" I think you could get a divine+7jews+chrom+whetstone, if you vendored a 6L multicolor 20q item and all recipes would be enabled. ;) " Drop: yes. But it seems to be much easier to 5link with fusings. I've 5linked 10+ white chestpieces in under 10 fusings/40 scraps in Ambush. I still think it would be ok to get 1-7 fusings for vendoring a 5L, but their rarity and worth has decreased drastically. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

"In my mind, the Divine would override the 7 Jeweler's. Otherwise, I don't see why this shouldn't be the case. Imo, the RGB Chromatic criteria and the 20% Quality Whetstone/Scrap criteria should stand independently and not be part of a priority scheme, but this is just my opinion. " Lol, you fixed them both. Nice one. Stealth fix, tho? I didn't see it anywhere. Casually casual.

" Maybe it was a server-side fix independent of the last patches. |
