Glacial Cascade low DPS?

Does every spell DPS have to suck in this game without a critical hit build? I sure wish we had more viable non-crit builds in this game. It's so disappointing.

A build doesn't need to do as much damage as the most powerful, expensive builds possible in the game to be good.

I've seen Glacial Cascade (and many other spells) do just fine.

Agreed, but I'd say CoC builds with people spamming whole screen with projectiles are off the leash.

no every spell in this game even sucks with a crit build.(besides trigger spells like discharge) (as long as you wanna selfcast ofc).

My Incinerate does perfectly fine with no crit and Flame Totems do pretty rocking with useless crit.

They just fixed Arc, and Etup seems to do really well with it in the two-week race. Here's his build. Flameblast also works well without being crit-centered.

Weird build. Why does he have Elemental Equilibrium when he does only Lightning Damage AFAIK?

EDIT: Build's not weird. I'm just really surprised how such a straightforward build with no gimmicks or amazing kick-ass gear (he doesn't even have a 5L) is doing so well.

FoxTactics has a much better build, and even with his awesome 18k DPS, single target clear speed sucks.

This is very close to the truth. Some builds are okay with crit, but only with crit and even then, they are only "ok". If you go crit (flameblast crit, i lol'd. i dont wanna know how much you'll die to reflect with that) the min/max damage is so huge that you allways have to fear reflect, which just kills the fun.

In case of GC, which is just a bad skill since you can only scale it with spell damage, you even have to consider phys refl..
