Help for my elementarist

Hey guys,

i am quite new in PoE and as usual, the skill tree hits me in the face quite hard.
I wanted to ask you guys, what you think of my passiv tree:

my plan was to go with mace and shield (greetings from captain obvious... -.- ) and hit the enemies with elemental hits. what do you think?7
I am not sure about the Galvanic Hammer. The skill itself fits perfect, but on the way to it i gain a lot of crit, which is useless due to the skillpoint in Resolute Technique. I still have some points left. I could use them to actually go on more Accuracy and crit, but actually i intended to use them for more def, like life and/or armor or/and Resistances.
I am not sure where to go from now. so far i am only level 10 and so there is still a lot of room left.

One tip I can give is that you need LOTS of life nodes. Set the minimum to AT LEAST 200% increased Maximum Life.
Otherwise you are going to keep dying over and over again.

edit: I also dont recommend going elemental hit since the mana cost will be obsurde and you should rather go something like glacial hammer, or infernal blow instead for single target. As aoe you can either use groundslam or use a 'melee splash' on another Glacial Hammer/Infernal Blow.

Hmm I actually like your build from looking at it way better than mine.

If i go for resolute technique, is there actually a reason to look for DEX and accuracy?
If not, i think i am wasting many points in the circle for galvanic hammer and i think i could get more % damage from other skills, like close to baptism of light and the meele damage at start.

oups... now i realize that there is a gem called "elemental hit". i was thinking of infernal blow, glacial hammer and lightning strike.
Not sure, how i could maybe add tempest shield and molten shell as defensives - but i like the optics of it ^^

You are right you won't be needing any dex, once you go resolute technique.
I also figured that you wont be really needing many elemental nodes, since all of the skills we mentioned so far scale off of physical damage.
(Lightning Stike, Infernal Blow and Glacial Hammer)

Since they convert 50% of the physical into their specialised elements. Getting more than 'Catalyse will be over doing it, so I took out 'Celestial Walker' I also changed a few paths to get the most out of stats (see 'Blunt Instrument' passive for example) I also recommend going over the Marauder endurance charge, it is great. That way you have access to 'Bone Breaker' and the 12% life and a bit more physical damage.

ehm... one noob question.. what is Endurance for?


They reduce the physical damage taken by a flat 4% per charge, while also giving you 4% elemental resistances. YOu are also gaining 0.2% life regen per charge since you are wanting to pick up the passive along the way (right next to the marauder end. charge.)

If my damage is so dependend on my weapon's damage, would it maybe make sense even to go for an axe instead of a mace? they got a higher base damage i think - but missing the elemental % bonus.

That is really up to you which one you want to use.
Both have their pros and cons.
But if you go ax, then you also have to do the passive tree again, since (most) ax passives are bellow the marauder and next to the dualist.
