Glacial Cascade

The Shadow's answer to "lol we don't get flameblast" it appears.

Did a run today just to try it out with no caster shadow experience, made a lot of mistakes and no ms, but decided to run it to docks after the race (1:06:19 vaal = lol). With this setup:

I had 218.3 DPS at level 28. I was 1 shotting most packs in Docks, with blues taking 3 casts and rares taking 4-6 casts.

Glacial Cascade hits most mobs in it's path at least twice, and sometimes 3 times (especially if you get blast radius from my experience). If it's towards the end or in your face, it hits once.

Only issue is the mana cost is pretty high but if you have grand mana flasks its no problem.

Seems like it might be a valid competitor for flameblast+fire trap imo.

Having never done caster shadow seriously, what do you use as single target to take down Merveil/Vaal quickly? I've always gotten the two attack speed nodes in shadow and just crafted a 2h and used double strike. If you use storm call, it seems like you need a lot of currency to drop your way to be able to craft both a +1 lightning and a +1 cold wand, given that you can't vendor for alts without wisdom scrolls (which are often in short supply during a race).
+1 lightning doesn't make much of a difference for storm call
Indeed.

And since Glacial Cascade actually hits multiple times per cast it works pretty well on Vaal, though the mana cost is a bit rough at that point and you'll definitely have to TP
