Blocking people you disagree with only hurts yourself and limits your exposure to new ideas and concepts. I'm actually pleased they don't have a block function. If someone is really worth blocking, then they're probably just as temp-ban worthy.

which is why i would only block the persistent trolls, and not just the people i disagree with. OK?

I don't really care for a block button.

But a downvote to get the troll threads off the front page as well as a report option would be nice.

to be honest the modding in the forums seems pretty bad many troll posts in almost every thread

All forums should have an ignore button, I thought this was standard. Yes it's important to hear other sides of a discussion, but some people are so deluded or incoherent there is no point to listening to them.

+1 for an ignore function.

I'd also like a filter, as unlikely as that is to happen. Would be nice to block every post with the terms "crash," "beta" or "free to play" without ignoring the posters, even though that's usually all said posters say in every post. I like to believe they might some day post something useful.

This. That, or a 'report' function much like the one in game. Not that I mind PM-ing support repeatedly (they are nice folk!) but it would just make things a bit quicker.

this would only be used to block dissenting opinion
discussion only happens when there is dissenting opinion
this is the internet, just accept the trolls; enjoy them
