Recurring account hack
Every few days, I'm having to change my acct. password to log in. Getting this in e-mail:
"Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone attempted to log in from a location that you don't typically play from - "xxx..." If you didn't just attempt to log in from a new location, then someone else has your account password! You should change it immediately which can be done on our website. ..." What's the prob here, guys? I don't have this hacking issue with other online games such as WoW, SCII, U3, TF2, etc. FYI, I don't play PoE through Steam client. My passwords are sufficiently long/complex enough that this shouldn't happen, or very rarely. |

Hi Arthikas,
Our current automated security system will lock accounts on IP change, this can be a problem for people who travel a lot or who have dynamic IP addresses - so it's likely that this is a false alarm for you, sorry (unless the geographic location in the email is something highly suspicious like China) - would you mind forwarding this email on to support@grindinggear.com? We may be able to look at ways to mitigate this error for you. |

Thanks for the quick attention to this, Michael. BTW, I'm in the US, not East Bumblefuck, Outer Mongolia somewhere.
I've forwarded the e-mail. Any help is appreciated! Last edited by Arthikas#4126 on Mar 17, 2014, 10:06:04 PM

I'm in the US, and I have a dynamic IP and get this message several times a week. This is a common occurrence, and you're not getting hacked.

Thanks. It's not happened before so wasn't sure.
