specific feedback on HC facebreaker infernal blow templar
I have a good roll facebreaker, currently level 44 Marauder doing 1800 dps, went for elemental damage on the tree. I have capped all resists (80) and 65 percent physical damage reduction. Still oneshotting all normal mobs in act 3 Cruel with absolutely no difficulty.
Yellows take ~3 hits and killing the yellow causes the entire pack to instantly die from the infernal blow explosion. I geared up at level 36, then facerolled the rest of normal and all of cruel without changing any gear, took me literally an hour and a half to do all of act 1 and 2 on cruel, , because there was absolutely no need for me to stop and re-gear, or worry about being undereleveled, ( I took on cruel vaal at level 41, easy as pie) Been as much as 6 levels under the area I'm doing in cruel and not dropped below 50 percent health once. Using clarity and tempest shield and anger as my Auras at the moment, I have effectively infinite mana (though my maximum mana is 28) because I regen the cost of inf blow before I've thrown another attack, the same for enduring cry. Not feeling bored at all, its true that it takes like 5 hits to wipe a pack, but its not that much of a chore, since it will wipe a pack of any size if its grouped on you (inf blow doing 20 percent of a killed monsters health) and it more than makes up for it on boss fights where you utterly crush them in seconds in a manly one on one grisly destruction fest. Not using Meginords girdle yet, which will add another 200+ dps on its own, when I can find one for sale. Done the maths, and my 5 link endgame for infernal blow will be: Infernal blow>Fire Penetration>Added Fire damage>Added Melee Physical damage>Reduced Mana. As I have yet to reach all the really good elemental damage nodes (over by witch and Arsonist at the bottom) My dps is going to shoot up hugely at around 55-60.) Fire penetration happily prevents too much rape from fire resistant mobs. Pro's: Literally the most manly feeling ever taking down yellows in cruel in a couple of hits with your earthshaking fists. Huge single target dps. Huge survivability (you go past what feels like every goddamn health, armour and resist node in the game, as well as having like 50 percent block chance and a shield with an additional 40 percent defences) No need for Mana flasks at all, you can triple health pot and double granite, or double health pot double granite and quicksilver, whatever floats your boat. Bosspacks are hilarious because killing the boss in a couple of hits causes the entire pack to explode messily. Cons: Requires strategic thinking, you can't just run up to a large pack and faceroll the keyboard, versus dangerous packs you need to not get surrounded or backed into a corner (Welcome to melee) Takes at least 5 hits to kill a pack, more if they're spread. Hard as HELL to know when you've hit something, and when you've clicked wrong and missed, fists have a bad attack animation and not much in the way of 'tactile' feedback like hammers and such have, (no change in animation of a mob is hit or missed) Conclusion: A fun build, has its advantages and disadvantages. Not faceroll total win, but not terrible either. 7.5/10. Last edited by Greenboots#0648 on Feb 2, 2013, 4:49:18 AM

I'm curious, I've seen a lot of people saying quivers are no longer abusable with face breaker. What has changed? I have a 53 face breaker mara and quivers still work perfectly fine, just as abusable as ever. If I take off Blackgleam it practically halves my dps. Am I missing something?

" Just an update on this, my DPS is now 4k single target at level 60,meginords literally added almost a thousand. @BossQwerty: They said that they stopped people being able to use quivers without bows, I haven't tested if that's actually true or not, but I just took Chris at his word. I wouldn't use a quiver personally though anyway. You'll die. You have metric shitloads of dps without one, and you reallllyyy need a shield lategame. |

I made a shadow facebreaker, opting for attack speed over damage, and hitting large survivability nodes. The result is 1052 hp at lvl 44 with 3.75k dps on infernal blow. This is with decent gear, but room for much improvement.

" Mostly this. Kenshiro wore Facebreakers. With the advent of Cyclone, as it has no weapon restrictions, FB builds are likely to see an uptick in power, since Cyclone will probably satisfy their AoE requirements. Last edited by nhargobange#1358 on Mar 8, 2013, 8:43:27 PM
