Minor Colour Change to skill Gem slots
|
It is quite simple with the current gems being Blue, Red and Green. Only 3 colours, all sweet, unless you are colour blind. It is not a rare thing, but being colour blind sucks balls when you are looking at buying/trading/upgrading an item with multiple skill gem slots. I have purchased an item more then once now, thinking it had a certain coloured slot, to find it has a different one.
Its not the colours as such, I am no asking for them to be changed, but it would be nice to have the shades changed. Me personally, I have serious issues telling the difference between the red and green skill gem slots on the gear. I dont have an issue with telling the difference between the gems, it is just the item gem slots that is the issue. Surely I am not the only colour Blind person that plays. It would be great to have the red gems a little darker and the green gems a little lighter, to help freaks like myself be able to more easily identify the colour issue. Good suggestion. I have the same problem as well.

I actually came here to post about the same thing. But I'm not asking for any change to the shades, instead I'm asking for what is actually a system that Blizzard employed in World of Warcraft that worked perfectly.
A simple text label for the colors over the slot itself. Of course this would be an option to be toggled on by people who need it. Like this: ![]() I had my wife double check I had them labeled right, as I too have trouble with the red/green Last edited by Sweebish#7822 on Jan 29, 2013, 12:13:48 AM

For what it's worth, I know traffic lights solve this by having red be a deep, true red; "green" traffic lights have a significant amount of cyan (toward blue) in them. Of course, with traffic lights, the position of the active light helps too, whereas our sockets don't have any cue except for the color.

" Ahahah yes I have had to do the same. Your option would remove any room for confusion. " This is what I was trying to get at. Thanks for the link. |

Simply put small R,G,B char to the center of gemslot then the problem is solved.

" It doesn't need to look exactly like my screen shot, but yeah at lest this way it doesn't mess with current art assets, which from what I can tell are extremely important to the art team. but color blind players need a hand here. |

Foizy's tke on it would allow us to not get mistaken as well as being able to be fitted inside the gem slot as to not interfere with any artistry of the item.

I am assuming there must be only a couple of us freaks that are having problems with this?

There was a suggestion in CB that the colored sockets also be shaped differently, Circle-Square-Triangle
its more elegant than text over gfx. B. The Preceding message contains discretion.
