>Summoner with ES/Elemental dmg
This build is, as the title says, a summoner's build. I've never myself even got past Act 2, so I'm simply experimenting with the pasive skill tree and am looking for feedback from more experienced players. And please, only serious answers. :)
Summoning speciality with Energy Shield as survival and Auras as damage boosters. Spell gems: Summon gems: Zombies, Skeletons, Spectres (Not sure what spectres really do, yet) Aura gems: Wrath, Anger, Hatred and/or Vitality, Grace etc. (Not sure how much mana it's gonna use, how many level ups or if needed more auras) Support gems: Minion life, Minion damage. For obvious reasons. Reduced Mana cost, Concentrate area of effect and/or Increased area of effect. On Auras. I also came up with these combos, which may not even work, but here goes: Hatred auras combined with the Cold to Fire support gem and Minion Instability passive skill. Also if combined with the Elemental Equilibruim passive skill(?). or Temporal Chains combined with the support gem: Chance to Flee. What do you think? Here's the passive tree: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgMBAW8EBwdjDH0QlxEPEVAXVBpsHNwdFB3ZHwIigScLKPopTyqNKpgquiymLR80CjbFNtg3ZjeDO-E8jkNURARGcUbXSOdJG0yzTblPv1crV8lakV3Gaqxr220Zc1N2EXi6fRh9U36vf8aCm4LHhEiFYIdliECLeo0ZjjyPRpAzkyeVIJeFmK2boZwtna6eoZ97pqym66cIpyuofarEr5uvt7B3tAy1BLaGuJO71r-XwFTBxck9zLzQ0NP72CTZC92M3fPgEuL35CLmgeq66-7sVeyK8WzyHvfX-oD7Cf5J So, simply, it's a Summoner build with ES as defense and Auras as steroids for my summons. The only mana I will spend will be on summons and some few occasional spellcasts with a spell free to be chosen by the individual. I'd suggest an fire spell because of the fire dmg boos and/or some curses. |

i did notice that you're getting elemental equilibrium. Alternating between spells is a bit harder in practice than in theory, but maybe you can pull it off with enough practice.
I don't even know if cold-to-fire will proc elemental equilibrium @_@ My humble opinion, though: you might want to reconsider getting auras. Minions deal reduced elemental damage and you need to be awfully close to your summons for the boosts to proc. The latter issue can be fatal when going up against mobs with AoE - especially since you're getting necromantic aegis. p.s. - spectres = diablo 2's raise dead. You basically create a phantom version of a dead monster. It has lower base stats than the original version, but your inherent minion modifiers will more than make up for the weaknesses. I love using this skill on enemies with hard-hitting AoE/ranged attacks Last edited by upshaker#2948 on Jan 28, 2013, 10:08:54 PM

Well, I can truly see your point. Alternating between spells will prover harder and harder the further i get into the game. Right now I'm alternating between Firestorm and Ice spear and it's quite easy even under pressure. But hey, Act 2 on the first difficulty isn't a biggie. :P
Though I thought as my minions recieved elemental damage from my auras, that would proc Elemental Equilibruim? And Cold to Fire would boost that? I may be completely wrong, since I'm all theories atm. Well, that's why I both specialized in Leadership + Aura area of effect x2 and, if needed, increased Area of effect-support gem. That gives me, I hope, enough distance to avoid any nasty damage and to be on the max distance before my summons start follow me around. Oh, I see. That's great. :D |
