Oh, look, GGG wants Hammerdins in PoE.

It charges really fast, so you can probably use it as a backup skill to the real Spectral Throw for when you get surrounded, assuming you didn't just get Leap Slam or Whirling Blades or something and jump out the middle so you can throw in from the outside again.

This gem is pretty much terrible so far (I'm level 21). Every time I go to use the souls have disappeared and even when it has 6 charges. Low damage, low effect even if I use all 6 charges.

And regular spectral throw is a mana pig now. Got new weapon at l21 and I have 2% mana leech. Mana is gone so quickly - compared to before - it took less hits and each of those hits caused more damage. So now we need to attack more (read: more mana) and we get less leech. I can't even maintain my mana with 0 support gems and no auras.

Which is next to nothing. You're dealing, what, 50 Physical Damage per hit? Each hit restores a whopping 1 point of Mana. If you deal 49 Phys Damage, you get zero Mana. To get 2 Mana, you need to hit for 100 Phys. It's all but impossible to even notice the change to Leech with that.

needs to keep the original spectral throw system, spinning outward then inward instead of just away. otherwise it has possibilities.

to those saying it sucks. get a slower projectile with maybe a multiple projectile linked to it. pretty sure they didnt say anything about no links in final patch but idk.

Its actually a very nice skill there I just alot to learn about it still. I am a level 95 crit dagger spectral thrower. I link it with gmp, phys projectile damage and cold dmg. I think slower projectiles would be a better idea. In a map situation it does help but not very much. I dont really have a problem killing magic or rare mobs, but I think this skill will be best when fighting lvl 78 courtyard boss, Dom and piety. Unsure if increased duration works with it but increased duration, slower projectiles, crit dmg I think this thing will do some nice dps.

Currently I see no use for the gem. It does nothing the regular skill cannot do better.
The damage is far too low. Actually the regular skill does more damage due to its multiple hits while the vaal one usually hits once only. And it is slow. The projectile speed seems the same but the way to go is much longer.

Theoretically it could be useful in an emergency situation when you are surrounded.But for this purpose damage and speed have to be increased. Instead the number of uses may be reduced to one.
i find it fantastic on my lvl78 SThrower

ive been always playing with Slower Projectiles ST - this time no different:




to play with Slow Projectiles Karui Ward or passive: Ballistic Mastery is mandatory

it charges VERY quickly, it deals very good clustered damage even tho supports are lvl1.

this, power siphon and molten shell are the 'good' vaal skills. others are.. niche, lets call them niche
