Feedback: No shadows in HC top 60, just the facts here
With the release of the 1.1.0 patch notes I heard there would be shadow changes and was expecting to see something. Since these didn't come I've decided to post my concerns.
I have heard some of the other classes are in a similar situation but the evidence doesn't show it. It looks like shadows and templars are the lowest populations in the HC top 60, but there are 5 templars, one has died. (30%-60% more of the 2nd lowest population compared to shadows in HC top 60). Scions, a somewhat new addition to the tree, already have 2 at level 100 and lots all over the top 60. There are 7 rangers in the top 60, two have died. Marauders, duelists, and witches are all very common in the top 60. What was the reason for the marauder overhaul? Did they need it? There are only three shadows in the HC top 60 at all, and upon inspection, none of the builds are viable/as viable today. The top HC shadow (Baker) is using an old CI Sporker build that we all know has seen changes. This character may not even be active today. The 2nd shadow (Coopes) was using a build that was built in Onslaught. His thread specifically states the build has become exceedingly difficult to use and uses items that no longer exist (Legacy uniques). The third shadow in the HC top 60 (Ocragon) is using a "support" based voltaxic build, without a voltaxic. I can only imagine the fun in that. To make it worse, all of these builds would be better as another starting class. NONE of them are crit-based, except the sporker which has to skillgrimmage literally to the opposite side of the tree to grab the ancestral bond keystone. Furthermore, the class doesn't function that well at all due to several issues. Take the shadow's base shield type for example. THE MIGHTY THORNS SHIELD. Evasion and ES on a shield that does damage every time you get hit, and the thorns damage is barely noticeable while you are likely to die from the hit. Do I even need to explain how retarded that is? I could go on about build viability and why just about every other class can do what the shadow does, only better, as there is MUCH MORE to this issue but I'll save some space here. What is the deal GGG? Why do you hate shadows? my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Shadows and Witches suck because ES sucks the end let's all go home CI and ES will never be good ever again.

" It should be, since that is the best indication of real balance. If your build does insane dps and dies six times per run, it's not really viable.
