I still do not understand Refund Passive Skill Points
I still don't understand that, Are they showing up because I have earned enough points attribute wise that some skills can be replaced? I currently have 2 points that can be refunded but I need to know why they show up. Thanks, new to game. Wes |

You likely have those refund points because of a tome given by Tarkleigh as a quest reward. All this means is, if you have spent points on nodes you no longer want, you may take them back (up to 2) and place that point on a different node in the tree. Every Character gets 2 as a basic quest reward, however you can get more via the currency item Orb of Regret later in the game. The tome cannot be transferred through the stash.

Each refund point can let you replace a skill point else where.
It is not gained from the amount of skill point you put in, but rather from quest reward or using orb of regret. The ones from quest are free but once you used them it's gone, while the orb of regret is probably very pricey for a new player but they are drops and therefore unlimited. In addition, when a major gameplay change is introduced, every character in the game will be given a full re-spec, which refunds all your skills points (because some passives might not exist anymore, or moved to a different place). A lot player uses this opportunity to make a new build. Alice_of_Wraeclast - Dagger CI Witch

Some advice... start reading stuff before you click on it. Just a good practice to get into. When you clicked on that tome that you got for completing a quest, it told you what the reward would be. Read it next time.

Ok, thanks all for the information! |

Just be aware that you can't break the path. If you try to refund a point, and doing so would leave some of your spent points separated from the path from your starting area, you won't be able to refund that point. If this is the case, you may have to spend several levels connecting a new path so you can refund the points you want to get rid of.
