General idea is good, but low life% and you have some useless nodes.
As a summoner, the only stats that you really need on gear are life, resists, and maybe some mana regen. I do not think your gear will be so bad that you have to spec into every available resistance node, but if it is those resistance nodes will be dropped as your gear improves. Example 100 Points. Alternatively, you could go CI.
This is my plan For my current summoner project. Now, obviously, this build changes a little once I get into better gear, and passive resist isn't as attractive as it was. (firmly into 68+ Maps we'll say). At that point, I'd be more inclined to drop the 5 points going into the shadow area to get nullification, and simply respec them to the cluster of ES between the Scion and Witch Areas of the tree, like so. My plan, at least so far, is as follows: Summon Raging Spirit - Minion Damage - Increased DUration (debating on using Moonsorrow for this, for blind support from wand) Summon Skeletons - Minion Damage - Minion Life - Spell Totem Raise Zombie - Minion Damage - Minion Life - MInion Resist Summon Spectre - Minion Damage - Minion Life - Minion Resist - (once 5L) Life Leech Bone Offering - Increased Duration Purity Of Elements (or swapped with PUrity of for Map Specific) + Discipline + Vitality - Reduced Mana There are a few problems with my gem setup as planned. Based on using Wand + Shield Helm Chest Gloves Boots I have 1 gem slot open, for a curse. That's it. Now, I would probably end up with a 3L shield, and putting it on the same Inc. Duration Gem as my Bone Offering, But that's really it. My goal, and what I've achieved so far since the summoner patch, is that I'm able to keep my minions alive far better than I was with my last summoner (lvl73 prior to anarchy). I ended up respeccing that summoner with the free respec out of frustration with the way that summoners played. Personally, I like CI for a summoner. You don't need "as much" ES as you would playing a standard CI character, since in a perfect situation, you aren't getting mauled. You need to survive a hit, you need to survive AoE, You need to not die. Your minions should do the heavy lifting for you, so the gear reqs of going CI are lessened, though you need to keep in mind, that some of the better Summoner Uniques out there are weak in ES. So plan around wearing Bones of Ullr, and possibly Sidhebreath (some people like it, some people don't. I like it). Though, if you decide to try out the new summoner helm, you might wish to stay life. I would stay away from the summoner wand. I don't like it, I don't like the 30% reserved life. I used it on my previous summoner, and it always felt like more of a liability than it was worth. YMMV obviously. On my Previous summoner, I found the Armor / ES nodes to work very well for me. I was able to use a Granite Flask to help out with taking a few hits, and mitigate some damage. I'm hoping, that with experience, and Summon Raging Spirit, that is a little less needed, since before, I was a full on Arc Summoner. There were a few times, when I would arc myself into some trouble, especially on my way to Piety. You will notice that I don't have Minion Instability taken in the builds that I have linked. That is purposeful. At this point in time, I haven't found it necessary with my current summoner. This could change over time, with more levels, but at this point, I haven't needed Minion Instability. If, that changes, (and I will concede that it's likely) I would probably drop the 15% minion damage node from the nearby minion cluster to pick it up. |

Why are people so insistent on taking the cheap / ineffective +Resist nodes that are gated by the +6% Resists? They are not worth the points. EVER.
