Blood Rage disables life regen? [delete]

My character regens 178 life per second, has 4k health, and blood rage takes off 3.9% life per second. This means I should on net gain 12 life per second. Instead, I seem to lose life as if I didn't have any life regen at all. Is there an undocumented side effect of blood rage where it disables your natural life regen? If so, that's very sneaky. Can the skill gem be documented (or at least the wiki updated) to reflect the truth?

EDIT: It turns out it's because I have -60% chaos resistance in merciless, and the damage dealt is chaos damage. 3.9% * 160% = 6.24% hp per second, which is 250 hp per second, which overwhelms my 178 regen, for a net loss of 72 hp/second.
