Cannot create a new account

My wife is trying to create an account and she keeps getting:

"There was an error processing your request'

I searched and can't find the post on this, are new account down ? Did i miss the post on it?
If so could someone direct me to that post so i can read it.

My brother is having the same problem. Every time he tries to create an account (and fails) it prevents him from using the same account name.

Did your wife check her email in case a verification link was sent? If the account is created, she should be able to log in regardless of that error message.

Friend of mine having the same issue, gets the error message when trying to create a new account.

Still can't create accounts, any update on this?

Account successfully created when using a non-Gmail email address...
