If you check the threads where people have linked rods (as I have) I think you'll find there is no obvious link between the places where they dropped. Find a better question.
I already made a list of stuff I did in another thread. I have no idea which of these things worked and which didn't, but I have a fair idea after having questioned other people who found rods. Here it is again:
- Type #jabberjawsyoloswag in global chat at the start of each new instance
- Eternal a Fairgraves Tricorne, then wear the tricorne and keep the imprint in your inventory
- Run in a small circle 3 times around the waypoint after entering a new instance
- Carry rhoa feathers
- Chant "jabberjaws is my hero and monstamunch is a close second" as you play
I did try it 50 times with different imprints/I hoped different roll will help
It did cost me all I farmed from closed beta now I quit.

Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you so far, but 50 times really isn't anywhere near enough. If you could get a rod to drop on only one out of every 50 attempts, I'd have enough poles for all of us already. I'm pretty sure eternalling the tricorne any more than once won't help, regardless of the roll, so you should probably stop doing that now. <3

(and pretty sure drops are just random, no trick...although i just *might* have been wearing fairgraves tricorne, as i tend to when fighting Dom.)
Completely random, but you happen to have been doing one of the things I suggested. Well that makes loads of sense, thanks for the clarification >_> I wonder if following more of my suggestions would have increased your chances..........

I think it's like...nope...got nothing. I've never understood these guys. I don't think they're actually trolling at this point. I think it's just a club of like-minded individuals role playing in their own special way... I'm assuming they'd be the larpers(is that the right term?) of the 21st century.
