A base melee build for new Hardcore/Nemesis players

Hey guys,now I am sure most people know the "good" melee skills by now, but many new people are joining everyday and have questions on what to do. Also melee is an easy first character because it requires little gear for leveling, while able to sustain dps and survivability.

Here i have made two builds, both for using one handed weapons, and shields.


Scion start tree




Duelist start tree



These builds also do not need to be followed directly, if you want to spec into a certain weapon, like mace for example, feel free. Make the build suite what you want to do, this tree is just made to get you on the right track.
I could add a bow build, two handed build, and a dual wield build at another time.

What kind of skills do you recommend using for a passive set up like this? (new player playing SC)
Someone gave me a kick ass lvl 20 axe, I would like to start a melee build with it. Don't have all the melee skills available yet obviously, anything in particular I should quest for...
