Dual Wielding

Will a Dw mar b able to b on par with a dw duelist or shadow long as i choose the right skilss and what weapons should i use swords axes etc.also wat stats should i concentrate on?dex life armor str....I made a 2hmace mar but didnt like him he seemed too slow.
