Voibear buff

Kay I thought these fucking things use incinerate apparently there mobile flame totems did you guys mean to do this? I'm actually scared of these things in races and such lol

I would have to assume that they did, they buffed flame totem in 1.0.5 and that is the skill these things use as the basis of their attack... though I suspect with a lot of differences from ours because it seems to be a LOT more effective then any flame totem I've been able to use, at least the GMP version I've used does less damage on non fire resistant mobs then their GMP version has done to me through 85% resists.....



edit - then again it could be the same skill, just with them stacking magic damage and fire damage beyond normal limits.... and thus making any changes to that skill cause their damage to change substantially.... I'm just really glad they've never gotten the idea to give these things fire pen.... these things are nasty on -max resist maps


So they made voidbearers and the skill itself, there is no way that they could not of anticipated an impact on them when they rebuffed the skill that they had made and assigned to these things.

No idea what happened with these guys with recent changes but any damage buffs to cell's boss meant a quick death for me. Last night I did one with GMP and while I noticed he was hitting me, there wasn't the normal panic that sets in facing him.
Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th

Flame totem got buffed up from the patch yesterday which indirectly buffed up voidbearers since their just mobile flame totems (no, they do not shoot out flames while moving, it is just a nickname).

Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

While I doubt that the nerf part impacting cast duration impacts the voidbearers since they are the totems essentially..... the damage boost likely boosts them considerably (270-294%) and yet wasn't likely the biggest cause of them doing more damage I think....



if you notice near the bottom of the 1.0.5 patch notes you'll also see notes saying


"Fixed a bug where not all Flame Totem attacks would deal damage."



That means that while you might of avoided some damage before... now they get a whole new bag of tricks to GMP shotgun us to death... and in packs will be far more deadly as a result.

Ok, more replies saying the damage should be higher but like I said, prepatch, Cell's boss would wipe the floor with me with any damage mods. Last night after the patch I did a GMP one and he was a breeze.

Ah, I must had overlooked it. The damage buff is not much to warrant voidbearers being even more annoying than ever before, but this make a huge difference. Having voidbearers miss most of the time gives you an opportunity to recover a good portion of the life/ES you lost from them.


Of course, players who uses high spell block & 80+ fire res will still have no issue tackling these guys, even the Cell's boss.

Using a staff, no spell block, no AA, not overcap on fire res besides ruby flask which I was using prepatch as well.
