Why "chance to hit" decreases when lvlup ?
Hi,
I would like to understand why when i lvlup (or every 2 lvls), my chance to hit drop by 1% ? In consequences, there is a DPS drop. There is no sense because i'm more powerful when lvlup so my chance to hit should not decrease. It should be the same or should be increased. Currently, my chance to hit is 81% in merciless. And if i go back to normal or cruel and hit a mob, my chance to hit is still 81% (???) (should be 95 or 100 i guess). Is it to force players to take accuracy nodes or gears ? i would like to understand the mecaniques behind it. (Sorry if my English is bad) |

Your chance to hit is based on how your accuracy stacks up vs the evasion of your opponents.
Because different opponents have different levels of evasion, the chance to hit shown in your character info panel is based on an average monster at your level. So if you are fighting monsters in cruel or normal when you are in merciless, then your chance to hit will be much higher than it displays. |

it compares you to an enemy of your level. if you level the enemy will have more evasion by default -> your accuracy is lower

you calculate your hit chance with this:
chance to hit = attacker_accuracy / ( attacker_accuracy + ((defender_evasion/4)^0.8)) - http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Game_Mechanics#Accuracy the toolbar is just an approximation on the lvl you have. Because a lvl 66 monster got more evasion rate than a lvl 2 monster. ign POWERSIPHONFORTHEWINNN

Your actual chance to hit does not change. "Chance to hit" in the character stats panel is an estimate of your chance to hit a normal enemy of your level.
So when you are level 30, it's an estimate of your chance to hit an average level 30 monster. Then if you level up to 40, it will be an estimate of your chance to hit a level 40 monster. Obviously, a level 40 monster will have more evasion than a level 30 monster on average. So if you have the same accuracy rating at level 40 as you did at level 30, then the chance to hit in the panel will be lower. |

The statistics shown in your character tab are approximates against your OWN level monsters. Different monsters have different evasion ratings and obviously higher level mosnters require a higher accuracy rating to have the same chance to be hit.
So your chance to hit on monster doesn't change while you level up, it just shows the average hit chance on higher level monster and thus is lower if nothing happens to you accuracy rating. |

Ok, ty for all your quick anwsers :)
If i understand, my chance to hit displays in stats is for monsters with same lvl as my character. So it's totally wrong if i stay farming piety merciless, right ? |
